ABOUT
Genevieve Rogers

My ultimate goal is to work as an artistic director, designing campaigns for fashion brands that reflect their identity through striking visuals and compelling narratives. I am driven by a passion for aesthetic storytelling and cinematography, and I see filmmaking as the perfect platform to merge artistry with communication. I am eager to immerse myself in a community of filmmakers, collaborate with others who share my ambitions, and continue to develop my skills and vision through a diverse career journey.

On my UAL Level 3 Media course at City College Norwich, I embraced every opportunity to refine my skills and explore storytelling through visual media. I thrived on generating ideas, experimenting with techniques, and incorporating detailed research into my projects. Along the way, I became confident in camera operation, sound design, lighting, and editing, developing fluency with software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Audition to bring polished, captivating stories to life.
Beyond the classroom, I have sought opportunities to collaborate on projects and produce freelance work for clients. For Calmer Massage and Perma Studios, I produced promotional videos of treatments tailored for social media platforms, adapting creative ideas to meet client expectations. I also worked as a secondary camera operator on a campaign led by director Chico Dall’Igna to save Wensum Lodge where I gained insight into professional workflows and the importance of clear communication on set. In addition, I filmed and edited content for TWPA’s dance performances, which strengthened my ability to work to a brief and manage deadlines effectively. These projects have taught me how to adapt creatively, solve problems on the spot, and deliver work that balances artistry with purpose.

My passion for storytelling extends beyond filmmaking to my personal experiences. Travelling has shaped my creative and life perspective, revealing to me other-worldly landscapes and ways of life that have changed my understanding of identity and community. Visiting the rainforests of Costa Rica, I saw breathtaking scenery and wildlife, moments that inspired me to appreciate scale, light, and the emotional impact of imagery. Standing in Ait Ben Haddou in Morocco, a filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones, I was captivated by the intimidation of nature and how environments bring films to life. These experiences have broadened my worldview and given me the confidence to explore unfamiliar settings, further fuelling my creativity and desire to tell meaningful stories that inspire change.
